Technical answers about CCTV and installation in Riyadh

Concise answers with a transparent calculation method. Final design depends on the site, camera count, lighting and required retention.

How many days can a 2 TB CCTV drive record?

Example: four cameras averaging 2 Mb/s each, recording continuously.

2 TB × 8,000,000 Mb ÷ (4 × 2 Mb/s) ÷ 86,400 ≈ 23 days

After file-system overhead and bitrate variation, a practical estimate is about 20–22 days. Higher resolution or frame rate reduces retention; motion recording may extend it. Confirm with the recorder manufacturer's calculator.

What is the difference between IP and analog CCTV?

Typical fitNew projects and expansionReusing existing coax

How much does CCTV installation cost in Riyadh?

A precise price cannot be derived from camera count alone. Model, recorder, retention, cable routes, height, network, accessories and configuration all matter. Modern Monitor therefore confirms line items in a quotation and does not publish unverified prices or stock.

What camera is best for a warehouse?

The best camera matches the scene: resolution for the distance, WDR at entrances, the correct lens and field of view, suitable environmental protection, and lighting or night performance. Long-detail views may need a varifocal or corridor-specific camera.

Do CCTV cameras need internet?

Local recording can continue without internet when power, the recorder and LAN remain available. Internet is required for off-site viewing, alerts, updates or cloud recording.

Hikvision or Dahua: which is better?

Compare specific models, not brand names alone: resolution, lens, WDR, codec, analytics, recorder compatibility, local warranty and regional suffix. The right answer depends on the site's requirements.
